About Station112
The Station
Station112 is a garage radio station in the literal sense. One machine handles
the broadcasts - song rotations, media encoders, etc., and the other handles the web traffic. As soon as I find time to straighten up the garage, it really
will be a decent place for a couple of small servers to live...
The Music
Station112 is served up from our own music collection. I thought I had a pretty
good mix, until it came time to rotate artists with enough space between the same artist to meet licensing/royalty requirements. There will be more music soon,
so please send your suggestions and vote on the 'Be The DJ' pages to help me make
my selections for the next shopping trip.
The Number
112 is just my 'lucky number'. It has no special meaning - it's just a number
that catches my eye whenever it pops up - and it pops up frequently! Before
long, there'll be a 'Blog112' on the site, just for fun, and a 'What's Your Number'.
I'm just curious what the most common 'lucky numbers' are...

OK, so I'm not a DJ, and my voice isn't anywhere on the site (yet) - I just prep
the music files and data for the broadcast. I'll be looking for voice talent
soon, though. Who knows...I may get over my own fear of the mike.
